Morning All ---
We’re about 36 hours away from the start of the season. You still have time to get your KNIGHTS gear out and ready to go and save your voice for the next 36 hours so everyone can hear you cheering on the KNIGHTS.
APPAREL –
Attached is the order form for this years team apparel. The cost for players will be $40.00 for the complete set (pullover, pants and hat). The Blue Line Club has reduced the price by $52.35 per player. The intention of reducing the price is to make the apparel affordable for all players and we would like all players to purchase the apparel so we look like a team. We need all order forms turned in this week so we can get the order in. If we can get the order in by Thursday we should be able to get the apparel in a couple of weeks. Pauline will be at the rink today with samples so players can try things on. We are also offering T-Shirts at $5.95 a piece that will say “KNIGHTS HOCKEY” on them and also Black windshirts that will have KNIGHTS HOCKEY and your players name embroidered on it for $35.00. There is no mark-up to the families – the prices quoted are the prices we received. When ordering, make sure you indicate the size and that the name is spelled clearly. If you have any questions please let me know. You can turn in order forms to Pauline Batcha Make checks payable to The Blue Line Club.
KNIGHTS VS. hopkins –
It all starts up tomorrow KNIGHT with the KNIGHTS taking on the royals of hopkins. JV will get things started at 5pm with Varsity going at 7pm at the hopkins pavilion. The rink is located 11000 Excelsior Blvd. – directions – Take 169 S to Excelsior Blvd. go West on Excelsior about 11/2 miles to 11000 Excelsior Blvd. The pavilion is located between 11th and 17th Ave. on the North side of the road in Central Park. Come early and stay late to support both of our teams.
AD BOOK –
We are in the process of doing the final proof of the ad book and everything should be going back to the printer this week so it can be printed. We should have the book for our first home game on December 4th.
VOLUNTEERS FOR HOME GAMES –
Dawn Stimmler will be sending out a form for people to volunteer for home games. Again, we need 2 ticket sellers, 2 people for the penalty boxes and a time keeper for both the JV and Varsity games. Many of you said you would help out. If you are able to run the clock please volunteer to do it – that’s the area where we’ll need the help.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST AT MOE’S –
OK, here’s the deal – Our breakfast is January 19th. Once again it has been decided that each player will be required to sell 5 breakfast tickets. Tickets will be distributed in the next few days. The way Moe’s runs their breakfast is that we sell tickets for $7 – Moe’s receives $2 and we keep $5. Now the real good news, If you sell your 5 tickets and turn in the money by December 20th the 2007-2008 Team poster will be yours for $15 a savings of $20. We are hoping our January breakfast is as successful as the one we had at Applebees. In order for this to happen we will holding a silent auction – Judy Marchiafava and Deb Kordiak will take the lead on this. If you can help with an item please let Judy or Deb know.
FINANCES –
Over the weekend finances were reviewed – we reviewed bank statements, deposits and expenses. Everything is in order and balanced. Our current balance is $16059 with some of our major expenses coming shortly – out of town travel and some equipment payments that are due, equipment bags and socks.
PLEASE GET SQUARED UP –
A couple of you owe for the pancake breakfast. Others owe the shortage that is due from ad sales and others owe the additional $100 fee. Please get this taken care of immediately. Kathy Jereczek will be sending emails requesting payment and the amount owing. If you know what is owed please get it taken care of. It is very time consuming for us to chase this down – we don’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable and it certainly isn’t our intention so please get things taken care of.
LAKE REGION –
I want to thank Coach Martin, Travis Baker, Doug Batcha and Andy Richardson for joining me at the recent Lake Region Board meeting. We represented KNIGHTS HOCKEY showing our appreciation for past support and explaining our current needs.
