Morning All and Happy New Year!

Sorry for not communicating the past few weeks (some of you are probably happy) but I took some time off over the holidays. It’s a new year and the KNIGHTS are ready to go. The Varsity team ended 2007 in fine fashion bringing home some hardware with a second place showing in “The Home of Hockey Holiday Tournament” in Eveleth. Congratulations!

THE BOYS START UP AGAIN TOMORROW –

The KNIGHTS take on cooper tomorrow afternoon at New Hope. JV will get things started at 1 with Varsity going at 3. Get there early and stay late to support our teams as they bring down the hawks.

TEAM POSTERS –

I know you’ve seen them – the 2007-2008 KNIGHTS team posters are out and they look great! I have a few remaining and once they’re gone they’re gone. The cost is $35 per poster unless you have already turned in your breakfast ticket money. If you have turned in your breakfast money the cost per poster is $15. I’ll have the posters at the games tomorrow afternoon.

PLEASE, PLEASE GET THINGS TAKEN CARE OF ---

Believe it or not the season is almost half over and some of you need to get some money turned in. If you owe booster fees, ad money, breakfast ticket money please get this taken care of. It shouldn’t be the boards job to track everyone down and collect this money. There are also ads that have not been paid for yet. We have sent 2 invoices to these advertisers and if they don’t pay you will be responsible for the money owed. Please make contact with the people that you sold ads to and get this money collected.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST AND SILENT AUCTION --- get the word out --

Two weeks from tomorrow – January 19^th from 8-10:30 at Moe’s in Mounds View we will be holding our Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser. Each family is responsible for the 5 tickets that were distributed to your son. We will have half the team work from 7:30-9 and the other half work from 9-10:30. Players can eat either before or after their shift. A schedule will be coming out when each player will need to be there. We are still determining how many parent volunteers we will need as well. Silent Auction – We will also be holding a silent auction at the breakfast. Judy Marchiafava and Deb Kordiak will be taking the lead on this. We have some great items for the auction. If you or your company can donate an item please let Judy or Deb know ASAP.

I want to give a special Thank You to John and Cathy Dalnes for the donation that they made to the Blue Line Club to assist us in the Silent Auction. When you see them at the rink make sure you give them a pat on the back and let them know how much we appreciate their donation. Thanks Again to the Dalnes Family!

MORE THANKS –

I also want to Thank all the family’s that donated gift certificates, apparel and other items for the Bingo game for the team when they participated in the holiday tournament in Eveleth. Also would like to thank the parents that jumped in to help with bingo, meals and activities while the team was in Eveleth.

HERE IS WHERE WE NEED HELP – PLEASE VOLUNTEER –

I want to thank everyone that has helped out so far this season, without your help there would be no season. Everyone is busy and some of you did volunteer some time in the past – that’s great – but please don’t rely on everyone else to make sure your son has a positive experience playing High School Hockey. Please get involved. Here are some upcoming events where we need some help.

Senior Day – Saturday February 16^th. We need Junior, Sophomore and Freshmen parents to set up Senior Day where we honor our Senior players, managers and parents.

Year End Banquet – Scheduled for Tuesday March 11^th at Northwestern College. We need parents to assist in planning this years banquet.  

Team DVD – We’re trying to put together a team DVD to be distributed at the banquet. If you can take pictures at games or assist in putting the DVD together please let me know.

Home Game Volunteers – Many of you said you would help out at our home games to take care of ticket sales, time clock and the penalty box so we could reduce the cost of this years team apparel. There are still slots to be filled. Please contact Dawn Stimmler if you can help out.
