Good Morning Cardiac KNIGHTS Hockey Fans –

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

Take it from me, a “35” year old pre-mature graying, slightly over-weight, far-sighted KNIGHTS HOCKEY fan you can’t make this stuff up about what we have experienced this year. I have been around Knights High School Hockey for 5 years and this group is doing their best to make sure this is the last season I witness, and once again last Knight, the boys did it to us again. Last Knights game had it all – Baker has a hat trick (Congratulations) with assists from Eide (2), Lammi and Healy. Vili Paraskov picks up his first Varsity goal (Congratulations) with a nifty assist from Batcha – a pass between his legs to Vili and Cunningham lights up the board with help from Gjere. There we are, up 5-1 in the 3rd period, talking about the lunar eclipse, enjoying the game and making plans for our next game on Saturday and the “wheels come off”. All of a sudden the scoreboard reads 5-4 and we’re hanging on for our lives. The BIG Knights crowd is now screaming and cheering, the student section is on their feet cheering and chanting and sheriffs department personnel are now creeping closer to the glass to witness the wild finish. North Metro pulls their goalie and the pressure is on with slap shots and bodies flying. We grab the puck and shoot at an open net and miss it by an inch and a quarter. The puck comes back to our end with 7.7 seconds and the fans in the “shrine in Andover” are now worked into a complete frenzy. The boys line up for the face-off and its 6 on 5 and there is a scramble for control of the puck, after a miss-directed shot, the Cardiac Knights hang on to win! Another nice relaxing evening of Knights Hockey.

ATTENTION PARENTS – PASS THE WORD

This Saturday the Knights take on the centennial cougars at 3pm at the Champlin Park rink. Coach Martin has requested that ALL players (including JV) attend the game and ride the bus. The bus will leave Irondale at 1:15. Coach Martin has also requested that ALL players wear their sweat suits and hats.

PARTY AT COACH MARTINS –

Coach Martin has extended an invitation to everyone on the team for a Pasta Feed this Friday evening following practice. It should start up around 5.

OOOPS –

In my last email I failed to mention Lindsay Baker who did an outstanding job singing the National Anthem at our Senior Day Game. Thanks Lindsay you were TERRIFIC!

BANQUET –

Final preparations are underway for our year-end banquet scheduled for Tuesday March 11th at Northwestern College from 6:30-9:30. Please get your RSVP’s turned in ASAP so we can give the caterers a final count on food. Seniors are asked to prepare a picture board of memories and all players are required to wear a shirt and tie for the event.

HAIL TO THE CHIEF –

I want to congratulate Tim Fredberg for making the mistake decision after clearance from his physician (just kidding) to take on the role as President of the Blue Line Club for next season. He will do an outstanding job and with the support of the great group we have I feel confident that the work that has been done will continue and Knights Hockey will continue to prosper and players and fans will have some life long memories and exciting times ahead. Again, Congratulations and Thanks Tim. Please give Tim a Thanks and your support.

DON’T MISS THE GAME SATURDAY –

Make sure you make it to Champlin Park Saturday at 3pm to witness the upset, as the KNIGHTS take on the cougars of centennial in section play.

See you at the rink!

GO KNIGHTS!

Regards

Jerry
