Program Book - Ad Sales - due 10/15

The deadline to turn in all ad sales is is THIS WEDNESDAY, October 15.  Ads can be dropped off at Dawn's home (address removed for security purposes) or given to any BLC board member.  Contact Dawn if you need to make arrangements.

Please make every attempt to turn in all information related to the ad sale together.  This includes the (1) sponsor info sheet (additional forms can be found on the website) (2) any new or changed artwork/graphics for the ad and (3) payment.  If the business needs an invoice, please also communicate this to Dawn and she'll make those arrangements.

Each rostered player is responsible for $250 towards the Program Book fundraiser.  This can be accomplished by selling $250 worth of advertising, making a cash payment of $250, or some combination of ad sales and cash.   Please contact Dawn or Kathy with any questions.

Pre-season Pancake Breakfast - 10/25 - Moe's in Mounds View 9-11am

Thanks to Kathy Jereczek, Gayle Sheets, Tony Marchiafava, and Sue Kranz that have stepped up to help with the pancake breakfast. We could still use a few more parents to help with planning and the morning of the breakfast.  Contact Kathy if you are willing/able to help.

Each player planning to try-out for the team this year is asked to sell five $7 tickets.  Moe's keeps $2 per meal, and the BLC keeps the rest.  The captains will distribute tickets to players.  All players must sell all 5 tickets, and hopefully it's not you that buys them.  Money can be turned into Kathy.

We will advertise in the Knights Daily news, and morning announcements at Irondale.  Planning to do the same at St Anthony if possible.

We are asking the returning players from last year to serve breakfast.  If a player is not able to participate at the pancake breakfast the morning of October 25th, they should notify captain Jesse Lammi or Kathy Jereczek.

Captains Practice - starts October 27

We are fortunate to have Rick McKelvie working with the boys at captains practice again this year.  Captains practice runs from October 27 - November 14.  All practices are held at the SuperRink and begin at 3:15pm.  The first two weeks are one hour practices, and the last week practices are two hours long.  Cost is $210 if the player starts on October 27.  The cost is prorated dependant on start date after the 27th.  If you don't have that information from the August player/parent meeting, stay tuned, I'll send it out soon.

Important:  every player is required to have a signed waiver and fees turned into the Blue Line Club before he is allowed on the ice for captains practice.  No exceptions.  Some of you took care of this at the August parent meeting.  If you have not yet paid, payment can be sent to Denise Studer (address removed for security purposes-check original email)

The BLC board will also be available on October 27th at the rink to collect forms and payments.  The waiver and schedule can be found on the website.  Checks made payable to Irondale Blue Line Club.

Carpooling - Ride is needed...

Every season it is a bit challenging for the players to haul equipment to and from the rink at a time when many parents are working.  For our younger players, this can be a huge adjustment into high school hockey.  We've already been able to match up some players to accommodate rides.  however...

Joel Lark (10th @ Irondale) is still in need of a ride.  He lives near 35W and County Rd I. If you think your player can help out, please ask him to talk to Joel or contact Dave or Lynne Lark

Tryouts - begin November 17

Team tryouts begin 11/17 and will be held at the Super Rink.  More details will follow, however, please make sure your player has an up to date sports physical and has completed the Athletic Signup Packet required by the school and MN State High School league.  This information can be found on the school website(s) under athletics.
